Unique Uses for RTA Cabinets

RTA cabinets were meant for the kitchen and bathroom.  At least, that was the original idea.  But who says that is the only place you have to use them?  Here at RTA Cabinet Store, sometimes we get a slightly different order where someone doesn’t order enough to make a full kitchen or bathroom, and we get curious!  Read on to find out some of the unique uses we have heard about for RTA cabinets!

The Garage and Discounted Cabinets

This one kind of seems like a no-brainer, but you would be surprised to know how many people don’t consider cabinetry for their garages.  Garages are many times an afterthought for design plans, having strange columns and/or small rooms added which wouldn’t look right anywhere else in the house.

The great part about RTA cabinets, though, is that there are such a large number of choices and sizes, they can go just about anywhere and look good!  Combine that with great storage space and low cost, and you have a great solution for your tools and other things you need to store in your garage.  If you compare the costs of the cabinets to some of the professional workbenches and tool chests out there, you will find that you could save a bundle and have something very cool looking.

The Work Desk from RTA Cabinets

Wait, RTA cabinets as a work desk?  Yup!  We have had a number of our customers order cabinets and a countertop piece to create a unique work desk area.  With plenty of color and style choices, great storage capacity, and the right area, you can have a custom work area to die for.  This works great if you have a smaller room, for example, and can have a countertop running from wall to wall on one side, and a few cabinets underneath, while leaving the rest open for the chair to go under.

You can also combine this with a taller cabinet for more storage of supplies, printer, etc.  Upper cabinets can go in for the same purpose, and lighting underneath them can be an awesome complement to your work space!

The Kids’ Room DIY Cabinets

A few enterprising parents we know got some of the shallower upper cabinets and mounted them on the wall in their kids’ rooms.  By doing this, you can create a whole lot of storage space, which looks great, and have something that your kids will love.  By having a foot or foot and a half below them, you can have an open area for larger toys, and other toys can be put inside and organized!  This idea goes great with windowed doors, so that your kids can organize, show off collections, etc.!  A bit of soft lighting inside the cabinets works well as a nightlight too!
