RTA Cabinets in Your Bathroom

Smiling handsome man carrying packages during moving houseWith the advent of ready to assemble, or RTA, cabinets, bathroom cabinetry has really taken a turn for the better.  There are many styles and options to choose from today.  In the past, cabinetry in the bathroom was more of an afterthought than a set of options.  The only options available were either getting something shown at a brick and mortar store, or getting something custom made, which usually cost an arm and a leg!  Here at RTA Cabinet Store, we noticed, over the years, a trend in the RTA industry to offer more and more cabinet options for bathrooms in both traditional and innovative styles.

A Lot More Possibilities

With all the possibilities available now, it can be hard to choose.  Vertical cabinetry, multiple widths and configurations of sink cabinetry, free standing racks and partial cabinets/tables, hanging wall cabinets (both closed-face and shelving styles), and a variety of bathroom mirrors are all available.  It is possible to really have a spacious feeling bathroom with lots of storage, even in a smaller area.  Some of the cabinet innovations for the bathroom, with vertical drawer storage and tower cabinets, are very useful for the smaller bathroom.  For larger bathrooms, open-faced shelving and wall shelving units are also made to perfectly match the RTA cabinets.

The Cost

Typically, RTA cabinets cost much less than custom, by a factor of three or four, and are very easy to put together and install.  They are cheaper than off-the-shelf cabinetry in a store as well, and the customization factor, being able to choose multiple sizes of the same cabinet so you can get one to fit exactly as you want, is a huge bonus.  As compared to installing cabinetry in a kitchen, this is typically a project that can be done in a day, so it is very easy and cost effective for one to redo their whole bathroom by themselves.  Those RTA cabinets made for bathrooms are treated to withstand warping from humidity as well, so no worries there.

Final Thoughts

Going for an RTA cabinet solution in the bathroom can save you a lot of money, give you a lot of possibility for customization, increase your storage capacity without cluttering or taking up a lot of your floor space, and it is a project that many people can do by themselves, completely cutting out the cost of labor.  The typically smaller space means that the project can be done in a timely manner, as well.  Another few, but huge, benefits are the fact that replacement parts, such as doors, mirrors, etc., in the same style as the cabinets you install, are almost always available, and if you want to have a theme throughout your home, just about every style of RTA kitchen cabinets has a matching bathroom style and vice-versa.  Have fun installing your new bathroom, and don’t be afraid to ask for some free help online from a cabinet expert, they may give you some ideas which will really make your bathroom pop!
