Of course, we all want the highest quality kitchen cabinets we can get. But, as with just about everything else made by man, not everything is made equal. There are many levels of quality, and indicators as to the level can be found in the descriptions. No one is ever deliberately going to say that they are selling a low quality item, so we have to check ourselves!
Wood Construction
Cabinets that are of wood construction are the ideal cabinets to have. This may seem like an obvious statement, but wood construction isn’t as pervasive as you might think.
A great number of manufacturers use particle board for their cabinets. While this may be great looking, depending on what you get, particle board is definitely not as stable as wood, will never be as stable or long lasting as plywood, and has the unfortunate propensity to expand when in contact with moisture. Some wood expands as well, but not nearly as easily or as much as particle board. Avoid it if you can.
Return Policies and Warranties
Be sure to check out the website of the seller. If there is a generous return policy and warranty (i.e. very low restocking fee and decent time limit for returns), then the seller is almost certainly selling high quality cabinets.
As RTA kitchen cabinets are not all made equal, if you are buying from someone who has the self-assurance to give this type of guarantee, they are also sure of the quality of product they sell. RTA Cabinet Store prides itself on selling the highest quality RTA cabinets we can find, and our return policies reflect it. Online Reviews
There are a lot of great websites out there for reviews, and checking out the seller before you buy is simply a smart idea. For example, Houzz is a website for reviews of all things home-related. As with anything, there are always going to be good and bad reviews, but a four-star rating or more should help put your mind at ease that you would be buying from a reputable seller. Sometimes, one of the best indicators of product quality is word of mouth from someone who has actually experienced it.
