Before you get into designing your kitchen, research. Take the time to look at everything, everywhere. Use a search engine to look for unique kitchen ideas and/or come up with your own. This will be a great base for beginning your kitchen design.
You also have to pick out what is important to you. Are you primarily a pasta chef? Do you cook just about anything? Do you like to make lots of sauces, do you love chopping, do you want to eat in the kitchen or do you have a dining room available? All of these questions, and more, should be things you consider before settling on your kitchen ideas. For example, a kitchen island could be great, but what type? If you are going to eat in the kitchen, probably one with an overhanging countertop you can put some chairs under is a great idea. If you aren’t going to eat there, then seating space probably isn’t that important.
