We are going to go ahead and assume that you have great cabinets in your kitchen (perhaps you bought RTA kitchen cabinets from RTA Cabinet Store, in which case that fact is guaranteed), and they don’t need anything done to them. You do, however, want to give your kitchen a makeover, to refresh it and give it a new look. There are a lot of simple and cost effective ways to do that.
Change Out Doors
One of the easiest things you can do with a kitchen is change out the doors and drawers. For many of our kitchen cabinet lines, we have doors that have inset glass in them. A few doors changed out with inset glass could make a big difference in the look of your kitchen.
Painting Your Kitchen Cabinets
While the base may be okay, you might want a different color. You could paint your kitchen cabinets, or simply add accent paint (especially if you have a white kitchen). Some people put nice thick stripe designs that follow through from top to bottom cabinets even through the negative space, tying things together and giving a bright splash of color. It doesn’t have to be everywhere, either, but rather can be an accent in one area. Combine that technique with other things that color, such as flowerpots, picture frames, napkin holders, pot and pan pads and coasters, and just about anything else you can find in that same color.
Changing Out Your Cabinet Hardware
Changing your cabinet hardware is an excellent way to change the look of your cabinets without spending too much time or money. It’s also a completely reversible change, and you can change the door and drawer pulls out as much as you wish, so you could even have seasonal sets if you liked to continually have a fresh looking kitchen.
Replacing the Backsplash and Countertop
Replacing backsplashes and countertops is a great way to completely change the look of your kitchen, while retaining nearly all of the rest of the items in their natural state. Upgrading to a funky resin countertop or an elegant granite one may be just what you need to bring that kitchen to life for you once again!
