Most of us like to do our homework when making a big purchase, especially when we buy online. The costs involved and the uncertainty of not being able to physically touch or see the item and having no place to go to return it, other than shipping it back, makes many people slightly nervous when getting a big-ticket item. One of the ways that retailers have combated this problem is by instituting reviews.
Reviewing the Options
There are many different types of reviews, with some sites dedicated solely to reviewing a particular set of items, such as Houzz.com, which reviews items and retailers related to housing. Normally, someone tries the service, for example, buying kitchen cabinets, and then writes a review. This system pretty much solely relies on the goodwill of the buyer to write a review, in order to help out future customers.
While this method is good, it is not without its pitfalls. On the one hand, unscrupulous sellers can falsely seed review sites by paying fake reviewers to leave good reviews, thereby misleading people into thinking that the item or site is better than it really is. On the other hand, some people are never happy, and delight in causing problems for others, and leave bad reviews just for spite. This in no way applies to the majority of reviews, though, as many people leave reviews knowing that they benefit as well, as the more people who leave reviews, the better knowledge and comfort you can have to buy an item.
Feeling Comfortable Buying RTA Kitchen Cabinets
As we are RTA Cabinet Store, we have a particular liking for RTA cabinet reviews. You can check out some reviews of our site on Houzz, here: https://www.houzz.com/browseReviews/rtacabinetstore. One of the great things about Houzz is that they actually check to see if the person reviewing actually bought the product, so you know that the reviews are legitimate. There are always going to be negative reviews, for RTA cabinets and other items, no matter the industry. This is a given, because like we mentioned, you can never keep everyone happy. If, though, a retailer has a great percentage of good reviews and has near or above a four-star rating, you can be assured that they are a reputable seller. You can also check out the Better Business Bureau to see what information they have on the retailer. So the answer is yes, by and large online reviews are reliable. The more there are, the more the reliability.
