If you’ve been following our blog, you know by now that there are a number of color trends that are “in” right now. Some, like white and off-white, are long-standing trends that aren’t going anywhere, anytime soon. Others, like gray and black, are newcomers, and time will tell if they last. Finally, the high-contrast trend, using color blocks, or color-walls, is new and striking, but … what if it’s a little too radical for you, or your potential buyers?
That’s where classic hardwood tones come in. Right now, though, the trend is away from dark, cool, or neutral woods like ash or pine, or even unstained maple. Instead, your safest bet at the moment is to stick to warm, rich wood tones.
Warm Wood-Toned RTA Kitchen Cabinets
We have too many warm-toned cabinet lines to list them all here, but we’ll cover a few of our best-selling highlights. In general, you’ll find warm colors in the lower half of the “medium” section of our RTA kitchen cabinet catalog, and the upper half of the “dark” section.
The warmest of the warm, are any cabinets with “cherry” in the name. Cherryville, Cherry Shaker, York Cherry, and Cherry Glazed, all offer a warm, welcoming, cozy glow. You do have to be a little careful though, as this much red in your cabinets, combined with warm lighting, could lead to a bit of overload.
For warmth without quite so much red, check out our Amber Spice, Butterscotch Glazed, and Richmond Bordeaux lines, among others. You do still need to be a little careful with these lines, not to use lighting that’s overly warm. Fortunately the trend in lighting is toward bright white light toward the 5500K end of the spectrum. Even so, a cool, bright lightbulb in a fixture that includes warm reflective metal or warm-colored glass, can still over-accentuate the warmth in a warm wood-toned cabinet.
