Ideas to Revamp Your Kitchen at an Affordable Price

Your kitchen needs some help.  You need to revamp it, but you don’t want to break the bank to do it.  There are a number of very affordable ways to give your kitchen a new look and feel without spending a heck of a lot of money to do it.  Read on to find out some tips on how to revamp your kitchen on a budget.

Give It a Facelift

Refacing cabinets can be much more economical than replacing.  Especially if you are willing to take the plunge in doing it yourself, you can save loads of money by giving those cabinets a facelift.  Another path you can take is replacing the cabinet doors with a different style than the old ones.  It’s much cheaper than replacing the entire cabinet.  Don’t forget about door hardware, either.  This is one of the easiest and economical changes you can make, changing the pull knobs and handles, but can make a great impact on the looks of your kitchen.

Give Cabinets More Room to Declutter

Most of us end up putting lots of things on the countertop.  This can lead to a cluttered-looking space, or take away from your ability to put decorative items in an area tastefully.  Cabinet inserts, such as the Rev-A-Shelf series (check out the entire line on RTA Cabinet Store’s website … it’s awesome!) can give your cabinet up to five times the storage space it had before.  With just a few cabinets modified inside, you can have room to hold everything and organize it all superbly, out of sight, and giving you your counter space back.

Paint and a New Backsplash

Refreshing the paint will instantly make the room feel better.  Take it one step further, though, and either paint or install a new backsplash.  If you can get a tile one, go for it.  It’s classy, not very expensive, easy to clean, and fairly easy to do yourself.  You could also change out your door hardware to match the tiles, and the curtains or blinds as well.  It will instantly seem like a new kitchen.  If you want to go a bit further, you could replace the countertops while leaving the same cabinets in place.

Replace Cabinets and Resell the Old

This is the more expensive option, though still very affordable.  As we mentioned before, if you are willing to do it yourself, you can remove your old cabinets (carefully!) and put them up for sale online.  Chances are you will be able to get something out of them if they are in good condition.  You can also get high quality RTA kitchen cabinets and put them together yourself.

The Best Method

Truth to tell, the best method is what you think will be right for your kitchen.  A combination of these methods, though, can make an old kitchen look and feel like a new one, virtually overnight, for a fraction of the cost of a true remodel.
