Marina’s goal was to complete a major kitchen remodel—specifically, to take her dull, outdated kitchen and turn it into the kitchen she always wanted. She contacted RTA Cabinet Store for assistance in transforming her old-fashioned kitchen to a more sleek and modern style.
Marina planned the overall kitchen design, built the cabinets, painted, and installed the backsplash. Then she hired an awesome contractor to complete the major construction, such as the cabinet install, plumbing, and electrical work.
It was a quick, painless project that didn’t cost a fortune—and she’s so happy with the results!

Overall budget:
Marina spent only $15,000 to completely revamp her kitchen. It was an easy project, which totally transformed her home—and didn’t break the bank!
Style of Cabinets:
Marina chose the Cognac Shaker cabinet line. Cognac Shaker cabinets are a perfect choice for a simple, functional, and elegant kitchen. The line is finished in a mocha stain and treated with a baked-on glaze finish for unsurpassed durability. This cabinet style is solidly constructed from birch wood and has a full overlay solid hardwood door with 3-inch stiles and rails.
Unique features or touches added:
To take the kitchen to the next level and add her own unique touch, Marina added a custom, built-in wine rack, a DIY Edison Chandelier, and a matching center cart/island to hide trash and recycling. Adding a center island also provided extra appliance storage, which is a must for the modern kitchen.
