Our Chestnut Maple Series of kitchen cabinets offer a deep, handsome brown glaze on multi-dimensional moldings that lend an Old World elegance to the kitchen that is unrivalled. The Chestnut glazed finish offers the richness without the redness of the Cherryville and Brandywine Collections. Perfect for traditional, European and Old World kitchen designs, the Chestnut Maple Series is the perfect backdrop for a more formal and elegant look.
Brown and neutral color palettes are complementary to the Chestnut Maple Series, and we love the rich yellows that contrast and highlight these kitchen cabinets. Aged hardware such as bronze and burnished nickel, as well as wrought iron are an excellent look for this cabinetry. Stainless steel or black appliances accentuate the details without detracting, but white appliances may be too much of a contrast for the Chestnut Maple Collection.
The Chestnut Maple Series in an Old World kitchen allows so many exciting options to be used. Farmhouse sinks with aged bronze faucets fit seamlessly into the look. The cabinetry is distinctive enough not to be overwhelmed by showy mosaic backsplashes, particularly when they have golds and brown in them to showcase the Chestnut glaze.
If an all-out Old World or European look seems to be a bit too formal or too bold for your kitchen design, try introducing some of these design elements to the mix:
• Marble accents, flooring or countertops offer a rich, high-end look when coupled with the Chestnut Maple Series. Use an off-white or creamier marble to avoid to stark a contrast, or black marble or granite to go bold with a modern or contemporary twist.
• Unexpected furnishings such as a comfy armchair or settee are an elegant and comfortable addition to the décor. Softer furnishings in the kitchen help foil all the straight lines of appliances and countertops.
• Old world and European kitchens will always have a table in the center of the room, since this was the traditional gathering place for families. For a more modern look or for a smaller kitchen, consider a kitchen island instead.
• Lighting is an important aspect with these darker cabinets, make sure you layer the lighting with task lighting, accent lighting under the cabinetry and decorative lighting such as chandeliers.
• Wood flooring such as Cherry or Walnut adds an aged appeal, while tile offers the chance to add some lighter tones to the mix.
The custom designed look of the Chestnut Maple Series comes from the quality construction featuring solid, hardwood Maple door stiles, rails and face frames. The sides of are plywood, and there are no particle board pieces in RTA kitchen cabinets.
